Dutch Experts is the creative alter ego of Brattleboro, Vermont–based singer and songwriter Hannah Hoffman, emerging from the isolation of the pandemic as a deeply personal yet immersive darkwave project. Channeling solitude, anxiety, and introspection into sonic catharsis, Hoffman began crafting layered synths, pulsing electronic rhythms, and shadowy melodies in GarageBand—building soundscapes that feel both haunting and irresistibly danceable.

Rooted in the lineage of goth and art-pop icons like The Cure, Kate Bush, and Cocteau Twins, and shaped by contemporary darkwave, post-punk, indie rock, and synth-pop, Dutch Experts fuses lush 80s-inspired textures with modern production and emotional immediacy. The result is cinematic, melancholic, and expansive—music that moves the body while pulling at the psyche.

Her debut EP, Bound by This, received critical praise for its sweeping atmosphere and emotional intensity, with A&R Factory calling it “one of the most cinematic soundscapes possible in our lifetime.” Now in the midst of recording her first full-length album, Hoffman continues to push Dutch Experts into darker, richer territory—cementing the project as a compelling voice in the contemporary darkwave and synth-pop revival.
